Dieng - People

In March 2015, just like any other day I returned home from work and my wife said she wanted to discuss something after dinner. Initially I was like ok....what's up? Turns out she nominated me somehow to follow her friends on an open / back packing style trip to Dieng in Central Java. It was very weird when I heard "Dieng" because just that day I was checking out Dieng hashtag on Instagram.

Fast forward, our journey began leaving Jakarta on Friday night and it was raining very heavy. We literally spent 2-3 hours just stuck in front of the meeting point. When my wife explained to me about the trip, she told me it will take around 10 hours and I was ok with that. Now after reaching Bandung sometime around 2-3 AM when I checked the GPS, I realised the total journey is going to be around 15 hours plus. That was shocking as literally I can travel to Europe in that many hours and here we are doing just a few hundred kilometres (300 ish). Anyways after a back aching butt cracking 17.5 hours road trip we finally reached our destination.

It was just 1 day that we spent in Dieng and the weather was exactly what I had heard - COLD! It was just so nice, taking a cold shower (homestay didn't had water heater) and walk around the streets at night. We went to many places such as crater, did some hiking and visited some ancient temples. I might go there again, more for hiking and camping!!!! But next time, I'll take a flight to Yogya and go from there (only 4 hours from Yogya).

Because I took a lot of pictures, so I am going to divide my post into people first and then post about landscapes.
